Expressions of Interest: Lived Experience Consumer Representative
The Australasian Pelvic Floor Procedure Registry (APFPR) is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from consumers with lived experience of pelvic floor procedures related to stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and/or pelvic floor prolapse (POP), who are motivated to serve as the Registry’s Lived Experience Consumer Representative.
About the APFPR
The Australasian Pelvic Floor Procedure Registry (APFPR) is a Commonwealth Government health initiative established to record information about surgeries for SUI and POP. It is a clinician-led national clinical quality registry managed by Monash University, created in response to the 2018 Senate Inquiry into transvaginal mesh procedures.
The APFPR plays a critical role in ensuring that complications from mesh-related pelvic floor procedures are monitored for safety and quality of care. Consumer representation is essential, ensuring the registry’s work is shaped by the insights and advice of women with lived experience.
The current representative, Jenny Leslie, will provide a handover and ongoing support for the new appointee. For questions about the role, you may contact Jenny at jennyleslie279@gmail.com or 0421 355 371; or, Natalie Heriot from the registry team at apfpr@monash.edu or (03) 9903 0213
